Transportation in Cadiz, Spain


The Cadiz province airport is located about 5 kilometers north of Jerez de la Frontera. With a single runway about 2,300 meters in length, Aeropuerto de Jerez has about 8 flights a day mainly bound for the country capital of Madrid and another major city, Barcelona. Other destinations outside of Spain include Stanstead, Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart.

The Plaza de la Hispanidad in Cadiz City is where buses in Cadiz province conduct operations. There are seven daily trips, at the very least, to the neighboring regions of Seville, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Jerez, Tarifa and Algeciras. More than three bus trips leave daily for Arcos de la Frontera, Ronda and Malaga. The Sevibus which operates from Plaza Elios has 6 daily trips bound for Madrid.

Next to the Cadiz harbor is the Plaza de Seville, the landmark to the train station that has 20 Cercania trains running daily to and from El Puerto de Santa Maria and Jerez de la Frontera. There are also 12 regional lines to and from Seville. Four trains run daily to and from Cordoba and two each for Madrid and Barcelona.

·        Travel by Bus

Most buses operate from the Plaza de la Hispanidad and include at least seven daily to Seville, Jerez, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Algeciras and Tarifa. There are also three or more daily to Ronda, Malaga and Arcos de la Frontera. Buses to Madrid run up to six times daily by Sevibus, coming from Plaza Elios.

The train station is just next to the Plaza de Seville with up to 20 cercanias running daily to and from Jerez de la Frontera and El Puerto de Santa Maria and more or less 12 regional lines to and from Seville. As well, there are four trains to and from Cordoba and two each for Barcelona and Madrid, servicing on a daily basis.
