Colombia is among the most visited countries in South  America. The country has a well developed tourism that attracts millions of tourists annually. But deciding to spend your travel in Colombia you have to prepare a plan of your trip in advance so that you know where the best places of interest located are. Here I offer you a list with some of the most visited places by tourists on the surface of Colombia. Hope that the information below will help you to arrange your memorable stay in Colombia.

1.     Riverbanks Zoo & Garden

One of America's TOP Zoos and located on the scenic Saluda River! Riverbanks Zoo is home to more than 2,000 animals that represent more than 350 species from around the world. Riverbanks Botanical Garden boasts 70 acres of unparalleled beauty.

2.     Saluda Shoals Park

A 300 acre regional park along the banks of the Saluda River, the Park offers fishing, canoeing, kayaking, picnicking, bird watching, nature hiking and more.

3.      EdVenture Children’s Museum

This is the South's Largest Children's Museum with a mission to inspire children to experience the joy of learning.

4.     Dreher Island State Recreational Area

The only state park at beautiful Lake Murray, the park consists of three islands linked to shore by a causeway and two bridges. In addition to woodsy hiking trails and lots of places to fish from shore, Dreher Island offers picnicking, camping, lakeside villas, tackle shop and a boat ramp.

5.     South Carolina State Museum

Housed in the historic 1893 Columbia Mill textile building, our "biggest artifact," the South Carolina State Museum tells the story of South Carolina through our many exhibits and programs. Come and enjoy art, cultural history, natural history, science and technology. The museum is located beside the historic Gervais St. Bridge (and EdVenture Children's Museum) and just a few blocks west of the State Capitol in downtown Columbia.

6.     Congaree National Park

Congaree, the only national park in South Carolina, is home to the largest remnant of old-growth floodplain forest remaining on the continent! Just don’t miss the chance to experience national and state champion trees, towering to record size amidst astonishing biodiversity. Walk, paddle or just relax within this dynamic floodplain ecosystem.

Deciding to travel in Colombia, you have to think about your place of accommodation. There are plenty of hotels in Colombia. You have the opportunity to choose the hotel in Colombia that your pocket will allow, which in my opinion is a great advantage.
